Where'd You Get That?!

Hailey surprised me the other day as we were laughing and playing around.  She smiled really big and pulled back her tongue (which is rare, since she seems to always have it hanging out of her mouth).  She's had two teeth buds since she was 8 weeks old. The first tooth popped through around 4 months and the second started to show a month after that.  Neither have made a full appearance yet though.  So when I looked in her mouth, I was absolutely astonished to see a third tooth on its way up, on the bottom!  I had always thought babies get their bottom two teeth, then a few months later, they'll get the top two and then later the sides start filling in.  Three teeth on the bottom just blew my mind.  How could this happen...?

We don't have very many baby pictures of Justin because his mom has them with her in New Mexico.  It has been hard to compare Hailey to what he looked like when he was little.  Just a few days ago we were cleaning house getting ready for our garage sale and Justin came across two of his baby pictures that were in his senior yearbook.  One is an adorable bath time picture that we can really see a resemblance to Hailey.  Upon closer inspection, what did I see...?

 THREE BOTTOM TEETH!!!
It must be a genetic thing from his side of the family.
That explains a lot.

Walk the Walk

LIVESTRONG Challenge
Whew! What a Week! Today brings a very busy week to a close. All week long we have been preparing for three big events.

1) We drove to Squirrel Creek Friday (80 miles away) to meet my work crew coming back from a youth camp in McCarthy. I have the task of going up and reserving the camp spaces, bringing the firewood and smores and preparing the lodge for the arrival of 20 teenagers. We had a blast and it was a beautiful day.

2)We cleaned house and set up for our first garage sale ever! I wanted to have it ready to go by Thursday since we weren't going to be home most of the day on Friday. We did it though...with the very appreciated help of Brandy and Jannette setting up.  It was a great sale-totally worth the effort. Although it wasn't the sunniest day, it was still nice enough for people to be out and about.  We sold most of our small items which was nice, but strange to me, our big items didn't go so well.  So if you know anyone that needs a california king size bed or a baby swing you should give them my number. :)

Last but not least, 3) laundry and more laundry to pack for our trip to Oregon.  We leave on Monday and are soooo excited to go. We have such a full two weeks ahead of us camping, visiting , and ending it with a big hoorah-our 5K walk for the Lance Armstrong Foundation. http://portland08.livestrong.org/major907

Birthday Party!

Happy 1st Birthday Addison!

Hailey lookin' patriotic at this Memorial Day party.

Look at my baby up on her knees!

May Day Fly-In

The annual fly-in was held over the weekend of May 10th. I took my little sister Amanda along with baby Hailey. Amanda and I had been matched through Big Brothers Big Sisters for one whole year...it was our anniversary. This same weekend last year I brought Amanda to the fly-in as our very first activity together. Now it has become an annual tradition.
Amanda adores Hailey. She made sure that whevever possible she was pushing the stroller. Whenever anyone asked how old or what her name was, Amanda was quicker than me in answering. In turn, that kind of makes my little sister, a big sister.

My little baby and the great big airplane. Crazy to think that at 5 months old, she's already ridden numerous airplanes much larger than this one.

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day at the fly-in. After watching the flour bombing and STOL competition, we all had a few more freckles popping out and a lovely touch of pink on our cheeks and noses. Can't wait for next year.
